This week in the Hub we have made amazing progress with our sign langauge, look at our video of Adam showing off his skills! Miss Cook has been teaching the Hub how to sign lots of different things such as - the alphabet, our names, different animals, how to greet people and use our and manners! Miss Cook challenged the children to write down all the different letters she was signing, even making words!
In Topic, we played 'guess the age' where the children had to guess how old everyone in the class was (including the grown ups). We compared ages, talking about who is older and younger. Then we learnt some new terms: past, present and future. We talked about what these words meant before sorting pictures into 3 groups. We saw a really cool picture of what a house may look like in the future - it looked like a giant glass dome!
We had a fabulous day back at Highbury school this week where we used the outdoor provision to continue our Numeracy work. We completed a treasure hunt using a tally chart, looking for animals/insects, trees, tyres and so much more! Some children also did lots of sorting using Venn diagrams and created bar charts with their data! The Hub also made their very own tally charts then went all around Copley School asking teachers and children their question!
We finished off the week celebrating and raising money for Comic Relief. We did some amazing thinking during our scavenger hunt searching for red noses by following the clues!
Well done to Amna for winning our class award this week and to Joshua for winning the Headteacher's award! Keep it up! The assembly has been posted on the website for parents to watch.
Have a lovely weekend!
