Week 3

Posted: May 7, 2021 by: admin on: Week 3

This week in the Hub we have had a new member of staff working with us, the children have helped Miss Holroyde to settle in really well! She will be with us for the next four weeks.

This week in Science we have been set a challenge to build a boat! Over the next few weeks we will be investigating different materials to see what is waterproof or not and what will sink or float. We will then move onto planning our design and selecting suitable materials.

In P.E we had lots of fun with Miss Holroyde who was focusing on agility! The children had to race through obstacles which was very fun and got our hearts pumping!

In Literacy we are looking at all things 'lists', what we use them for and how they are set out! We have been writing them using columns, bullet points, numbers and columns. Today we even catergorised our shopping lists to think about where we would find the different items in a shop (fridge aisle / fruit and veg etc).

In Numeracy we are learning all about money. This week we made our very own supermarket in class and priced up lots of different items. We will be learning how to instantly recognise which coins are which by looking at the shape, size and colour (rather than reading the numbers or words on the coins).

This weeks star of the week is Corey for his fantastic story writing! Corey came up with some amazing ideas on his own and used his magic 5 thorughout! Well done Corey!
